Our tutors are very confident that one day is adequate for our one Diploma courses, due to the small numbers they teach. If they or you feel you need to come back to repeat the course, you can do this free of charge. We also work closely with a company that can help therapists find work, whether you are looking for full time work or just evening or weekend work, they can help - helping you build a client base or just top up what you already have easily.
We give you all of this information and more on the day of your training included in your manuals. We also give you a free A & P e-manual as well as a free therapists' accounts package when you book with us - these are our gifts to you and saves you having to spend money later on these our way of looking after our students as well as excellent aftercare from your tutor long after you have trained with us.

Many other companies offer similar courses but have much larger classes therefore they have to be taught over a longer period of time. You may be asked to come back a second day to go over what you have learnt as the tutor does not have time to get around the class due to the large numbers. 4. At Gateway we have much smaller classes so you get the personal attention required for effective one day training courses. Also our 20 year plus reputation and the fact our courses are accredited with the professional bodies and are insurable will give you peace of mind.
We teach thousands of therapists and beginners each year and many bookings are due to word of mouth and recommendations.
We also send you a fantastic Anatomy and Physiology manual before you attend our courses; this is another reason why some training classes elsewhere are over 2 days. This will be due to the fact the tutor will spend a lot of the time reading about the A & P on the day which we feel you should not pay for so we give you a free manual so you can to do this in your own time. Relevant anatomy and physiology will of course be covered on the day. Please however remember this manual is an extra freebie from us, your course training manual is included in the cost of the course and you will receive this fully bound hard copy on the day of your training.
5. We also offer in-house training, we currently train all of Bobbi Brown's UK staff yearly, Channel 4 Make-up Artists and at Top Hotels and Spas.
If you are a salon, college, spa or hotel requiring in-house training please email us as we can organise a trainer to come to you (depending where you are based) with around 4 - 6 students. Discounts can be given when booking more than 6 students.

Frequently Asked Questions
“I have noticed some of your courses are just one day, can I learn all I need to in just one day?”
YES! Our philosophy is to keep classes small and give more attention to each student, thus cutting down on class hours. You will learn the same technique offered by other companies however we pride ourselves on one to one tuition in smaller classes.
You may see other companies offering similar courses over two or three days, the difference can be that they take much larger classes and need to be able to get around to all students. This takes them a longer time (due to the large numbers of students in the class) to make sure they are overseeing what the students are doing.
We often offer the same training techniques but as we only take very small numbers, we are able to teach the course in one day.
We ask our students to fill out a feedback form after their training and often the comments are that they were surprised and pleased how much they learnt in one day. They tell us they would take another course with us due to the high standard we offer both with our tutors and the course material given on the day.
Sometimes students tell us they have learnt more on a one day course with us than on a 2 or 3 day course with another company due to the one to one tuition we offer.
Certificates are only given once students have demonstrated that they have absorbed the information presented during the day and after applying a satisfactory treatment observed by the tutor. To ensure that we act responsibly and carry out good practice, should the tutor feel that you would benefit from further training, certification may/will be held back.
You will be offered the opportunity/be asked to attend the next available course that has a space, which is offered FREE of charge. This is rare but we would not be responsible if we sent out students when the tutor felt they were unsafe in any way, as a day to learn a therapy is only a short time and the standard must be high enough to enable them to issue you with a certificate.
Our tutors are there to help, with small classes it is easy to absorb the techniques you are taught. There are no exams to sit for our 1 day courses, only a practical assessment.
You will receive your diploma certificate on the day of training (It will display Diploma Practitioners Certificate on it and does not have one day course on your certificate) and once you have practised and feel confident you are able to take the therapy you have learnt out to the general public and charge for it as they are insurable courses.
Many courses also have FREE training downloads or affordable DVD's available, these go over the course you have learnt for an excellent visual back up helping you to remember easily the routines and vital information.
It does not matter which venue you choose to attend as all tutors teach the same courses and offer the same content. With all courses you attend with Gateway, each student will receive an excellent full manual, which covers the course material and all aspects you have learnt on the day. This makes it easy for you to remember the routine without having to make notes during the day allowing you to have a practical day learning this wonderful new therapy.
For our one day courses the therapy you learn is offered to your clients for usually 30 - 60 mins, with regard to the price you charge, this will depend on which area you live. If you work in Central London a 30 min massage can be as much as £45 and as little as £15 in more rural areas outside London. The advice we would give is to check out how much therapists are charging for a one hour massage in your area and half this cost when offering a therapy for 30 mins, to give you an approximate average and fair cost. The teacher will cover all your questions about your new therapy and setting up as a therapist if new.
