Hello, my name is Jacqueline Bailey, known to everyone as Jacqui. My background includes training in Sport & Nutrition & gaining various coaching awards before managing a Leisure & Sports Centre for 8 years I then moved into Senior Management within the Food Manufacturing, Property, Human Resources and Leisure industries. All of these were very stressful roles, along with normal everyday family life aswell. It was while working long hours and driving many miles daily that I unfortunately had a serious car accident, which actually put me in a wheel chair.
It was at that moment in time, when I started to evaluate what I was doing and what I wanted to do! Not obtaining the results I needed from western medicine to my injuries, I turned to Holistic and complementary alternatives where I met a Reiki Master & Acupuncturist who changed my life!
So, my interest in alternative, complementary or holistic therapies goes back many years to 1992, after my son was born premature and very ill. Being a dedicated mother I have had to deal, like others with the many challenges life has dealt me & my family personally including serious accidents, sports injuries, operations, cancer, allergies and intolerances, grief & much more. I have had many therapies myself, as have my children and family members and we have all experienced the benefits.
With all this evidence and my continued interest, I started to study back in 2001 while I continued to work. With this my love for complementary & holistic therapies; and the associated results, shared by each & every person I have had the pleasure to come in to contact with and treat, has just grown and grown.
I started by studying Reiki, gaining my qualifications of all the stages to become a Reiki Master, which was a fantastic milestone for me personally; to be able to give back to people that which someone once gave me. I then studied various massage therapies to support this therapy, and to study my Diploma in Traditional Chinese Therapies. Basically, I haven’t stopped expanding my therapies and learning ever since. I started my own therapy business in 2006, working mobile to start with, before setting up dedicated treatment rooms at home, alongside being a management consultant for the food industry.
I continually develop my therapy skills, along with having the pleasure of collecting various awards in my therapies along the way. I now work with various Clinics including ‘PACT’ Clinic in Leicestershire, cancer charity groups, local sports clubs and a group of professionals from Physiotherapists to Psychologists.
I first came in contact with Gateway Workshops after attending a course I couldn’t locate anywhere else, which fitted around my business and to give me an accredited qualification in order to practice. I was so impressed with the course and tutor that after attending further courses I approached Sue Bailey, the owner of Gateway Workshops. I felt teaching would be the next stage for me; to be able to give back to like minded people all the knowledge & experience that I have obtained and enjoyed so much, would not only be so rewarding, but an absolute pleasure.
So here I am a tutor with Gateway Workshops and it’s such a pleasure to continually work and develop with other professionals who are so committed and dedicated to their therapies and everyone’s equilibrium.
A very inspirational and enjoyable course, I have been practising the techniques on my family. My children love it - it really calms them down! Jacqui is obviously very dedicated and passionate about her profession and it is very evident in her teaching. I will be booking more courses with Gateway, in the future.
