Amy Johnson

In my role as a teacher, I bring creativity and expertise to the classroom, inspiring students to explore our world with curiosity and enthusiasm. My passion for teaching is fuelled by a genuine desire to empower the next generation of creative minds, instilling in them the skills and confidence to shape their own futures.

As a bodywork therapist for over a decade, I approach each client's journey with reverence and care, understanding the profound impact that healing touch can have on one's well-being. My holistic approach is rooted in the belief that every individual deserves a tailored experience, crafted to address their specific needs and concerns.

I am a multi-talented individual who wears two hats with equal passion and dedication: a bodywork therapist and a teacher. With a desire to make a difference, I have found fulfilment in both spheres, uniting the problem-solving skills required in both professions.

Combining my lengthy teaching experience with my expertise in bodywork therapy, as a tutor with Gateway Workshops I am excited to have the opportunity to merge my love for education with my passion for holistic wellness.Sharing knowledge and expertise with aspiring therapists and nurturing a new generation of healers and caretakers excites me.

Outside of my professional endeavours, I love spending time with my young family and beloved dog on the beaches of East Lothian. I play tennis, practice yoga and attend boxing classes alongside a regular brisk cold dip in the Firth of Forth with my sister's crew!

Tutor Feedback

Amy was outstanding, very knowledgeable, patient and kind. I like that she would give us examples of everything so we could actually understand all the information. I felt very comfortable.

I cannot recommend this course highly enough. From start to finish, it has been an incredibly positive, rewarding and enjoyable experience.

The course has given me so much more than just a qualification. I've gained knowledge, practical skills, confidence and a real passion for developing further within massage therapy.

A huge part of that experience has been down to our tutor. She has been absolutely amazing – supportive, encouraging, patient and genuinely passionate about what she teaches. She has created such a welcoming environment where everyone feels comfortable learning, asking questions and developing their skills.

Her encouragement and guidance have made such a difference, and it's clear how much she cares about her students and wants everyone to succeed.

I'm genuinely sad that the course has come to an end. What started as an opportunity to learn a new skill has become the beginning of an exciting new chapter for me.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge, believing in us, encouraging us and making the experience so special.

I leave not only with a qualification, but with wonderful memories, new friendships and the foundations for something I'm really excited to build.

An absolutely fantastic course with an outstanding tutor. Highly recommended!

Thank U for another wonderful course and, most importantly, for helping me find my direction in my professional journey. I truly appreciate your knowledge, guidance and inspiration. ❤️

Sue cross

I had a fantastic experience learning deep tissue massage with Sue. She is a brilliant teacher, very knowledgeable, patient and supportive. She explains everything clearly, demonstrates the techniques really well, and makes sure you feel confident and comfortable throughout the learning process.

I really appreciated her guidance, encouragement and passion for what she teaches. I've learned so much from her and feel much more confident in my deep tissue massage skills.

Thank you, Sue, for sharing your knowledge and making the experience so enjoyable. I would highly recommend her to anyone wanting to learn deep tissue massage!

I had a brilliant experience on Sue Cross’s advanced deep tissue course. Sue is incredibly knowledgeable and experienced, and teaches some fantastic techniques. She showed me ways to work effectively without putting so much strain on my wrists, which has solved a big problem for me and given me much more confidence. An incredible course with a wonderful teacher—I couldn’t recommend her highly enough!
