What will I learn When I Attend this Massage Therapist Course?
- Carryout a thorough subjective and objective assessment with a client including a detailed postural assessment and special tests to help identify pathologies
- How to carry out a full and effective client consultation including the importance of client care & ethic
- Identify bony landmarks associated with major joints, identifying soft tissue structures located at the major joints
- Special tests to help rule in/out specific pathologies a client may present
- Pathophysiology of common injuries
- Treatment modalities to support soft tissue repair
– the use of cryotherapy and thermotherapy
- Sports massage techniques to manage and prevent injuries
- Health and safety, client care and professionalism in a clinical setting
- Self-care, correct posture & minimising therapist strain when working
- Awareness and the importance of listening skills
- Tea, coffee, water, and biscuits will be provided. Students bring their own lunch

The first day introduces a detailed postural/functional assessment as well as advanced techniques whilst recapping some techniques for the Level 3 course.
Day two includes special tests and palpation of anatomical landmarks to help you locate important anatomical landmarks as well as be confident in performing special tests to help identify pathologies.
Sports massage techniques are covered however it is important to note that you will not be taught a routine. This course is aimed at working independently on a case-by-case basis. You are taught all the techniques and the principles behind them; you are expected to apply the relevant techniques to each client as a specialised individualised treatment.
