Course Content
Course Aims:
After demonstration, students are then able to practice the massage routine on each part of the upper body. This practice then formulates the full routine which is carried out at the end of the day incorporating the back, shoulders, neck, arms, hands and scalp.
Techniques cover the following Meridian Lines:
Spine - Bladder Meridian
Shoulder - Gall Bladder Meridian
Arms - Heart Meridian, Large Intestine Meridian, Triple Warmer Meridian
Hand - two points on the Lung Meridian
Scapula - Bladder Meridian
Percussion and Tapotement moves are incorporated, covering the erector spinae muscles along with some Indian Head Massage techniques to awaken the client after a relaxing treatment.
The 20 minute sequence is as follows:
Opening (warm-up moves) down the spine to stimulate the bladder Meridian.
Left shoulder, Left arm - various points stimulated as listed above for arm and shoulder.
Right shoulder, right arm
Lower back
Hips and tops of Glutes
Tapotement and IHM moves to finish
Just 6 students per class, offering one-to-one attention.
The tutor will be mindful of protecting students from unnecessary body strain.
Correct posture will be taught, and how to perform deep tissue work and stretches safely. The length of time for this therapy can vary to suit the setting and client, and the tutor will advise you regarding the cost to charge and any insurance information you may need if you are a new therapist.

This course is designed for both qualified therapists who wish to add to their repertoire and for complete beginners who have not yet worked in this field.
Massage sequence works on the pressure points of the upper body.
Many people use this therapy in offices; it is ideal as it is administered over clothing and is very effective for people with back and shoulder issues.
No creams or oils are used.

Massage can be used in the workplace, at exhibitions or shopping centres, and a shortened version can be offered for demonstrations.
