My name is Sue Cross, my background has been in Human Resources for more than 15 years which involved running many in house training courses. Following redundancy from my former job I began to question what I really wanted to do with my life. Top of the list was I wanted to be of service to others in a positive and uplifting way, and I wanted to be self-reliant and work for myself. This led me to take up a Counselling course which in turn led me to Reiki, from that very first treatment I knew I had found what I wanted to do. This awakening then took me into the Holistic arena, and my training began at the Central Manchester College of Excellence for Beauty and complementary Therapies.
I began building my practice and experience working mobile for a couple of years. This included working for Charitable organisations such as the Drugs and Alcohol Centre, for people on rehabilitation programmes, 42 Street, working with disadvantaged teenagers, Sure Start, FACT - Family and Child Therapies, The Children’s society and the Homeless Centre in Preston. As my experience grew I became more and more passionate about what I was doing. I then rented space in a Hair Salon for 3 years, offering a range of therapies. At the beginning of 2007 I opened my own Centre in Prestwich, where I offer a whole range of treatments and services to the local community for their health and well being.
I have now been a Gateway Tutor for over 8 years and Teaching and treating my clients is my passion.
This industry draws some of the nicest people I have ever met and being able to help someone feel better or even change there lives is a blessing and an honour to be apart of their journey. My belief is everyone should receive massage or treatments that suit them and it is up to use as teachers and therapist to help educate people to understand that massage and treatments are not just a pamper but are about the body, mind and spirit healing it self.
Sue was very good, she explained things well and did not rush. I felt confident afterwards. The facial course was good, I am now practising it with my clients and they enjoy it. The courses were advertised in the FHT magazine so I trusted that they would be good.
