The Chair Massage course is specifically designed for the back, neck, shoulders, the arms, hands and scalp. Seated Massage is also known as 'On Site Chair Massage' and 'Acupressure Massage'.
Extremely Popular Therapy - Clothing does not need to be removed, ideal for the office.
It can be carried out in almost any setting from offices to the gym or even outdoors, at all types of events.
Many people use this therapy in offices, it is ideal as it is administered over clothing and is very effective for people with back and shoulder issues.
No creams or oils are used.
This one day course is open to complete beginners or existing therapists, no previous massage experience required to attend.
We have many venues and dates on offer in London and all around the UK including Ireland.
This is an insurable chair massage course allowing you to use this therapy with the general public and charge for it.
No case studies are required - no written exams, certificate given on the day on completion of a successful practical assessment with your tutor.
If you feel one day is not enough training, you are able to come back to repeat the course again free of charge. However due to small classes this is rare but available if required.
This course holds between 5 - 13 CPD points (all professional bodies are different please check with the one you are registered with for confirmation of points they award for one day courses)
This course is designed for both qualified therapists who wish to add to their repertoire but also for complete beginners who have not yet worked in this field.
Massage sequence works on the pressure points of the upper body.
Massage can be used in the workplace, at exhibitions, shopping centres and a shortened version can be offered for demonstrations.
The massage movements and techniques can be adapted to what is suitable for your client. Furthermore the length of time for treatment is flexible making this more attractive to busy executives. Around 10 - 25 minutes is the usual length of time for this type of massage.
A comprehensive manual is provided for all students which includes marketing opportunities . On successful course completion you will receive your certificate on the day of training.
After demonstration, students are then able to practice the massage routine on each part of the upper body. This practice then formulates the full routine which is carried out at the end of the day incorporating the back, shoulders, neck, arms, hands and scalp.

Just 6 students per class offering one to one attention.
The tutor will be mindful of protecting students from unnecessary body strain.
Correct posture will be taught and how to perform deep tissue work and stretches safely. The length of time of this therapy can vary to suit the setting and client and the tutor will advise you regarding the cost to charge and any insurance information you may need if you are a new therapist.
You need to make sure you get a good and reliable model that is not going to fall apart after just a few uses. We sell a strong yet lightweight option which is durable and very well made. Your tutor will be able to advise you where the best places are to buy a reliable massage chair.

For Existing FHT Members
The qualification gained from the following course will only be accepted for professional practice and insurance if the student holds the pre-requisites of A&P and an accredited body massage qualification level 3.
Please note to be able to join the FHT or CTHA/Embody their requirements for registration is a qualification in full body massage/ A & P level 3.
However if you wish to join a professional body and you do not have this training you can register with The Holistic and Beauty Guild who do not have any requirements for you to join. These details will be given to you on the day of your training, they offer a discount for therapy insurance for all Gateway students.
You are able to obtain their insurance cover without a certificate in massage so if you are a complete beginner they will accept you so you can use this therapy professionally and charge your clients.
