This massage is designed for the upper back, shoulders, upper arms, neck, scalp and finishing with the face whilst the client remains seated in an upright position. Indian head massage is one our most popular courses at a very affordable price under £100!
It is an extremely effective therapy that has evolved from traditional techniques practiced in India as part of family rituals for over a thousand years.
No case studies are required - no written exams, certificate given on the day on completion of a successful practical assessment with your tutor.
We have many venues and dates on offer in London and all around the UK including Ireland.
If you feel one day is not enough training, you are able to come back to repeat the course again free of charge. However due to small classes this is rare but available if required.
This course holds between 5 - 13 CPD points (all professional bodies are different please check with the one you are registered with for confirmation of points they award for one day courses)
Indian Head Massage is based on the ancient Ayurvedic healing system using the upper Chakras and this tradition is still carried out in modern India today. A person born in India can expect to be massaged regularly from their birth to their death by members of their family.
The efficiency of the circulatory and lymphatic systems improves, toxins are dispersed from tense muscles and flexibility and fluidity of movement is restored.
The head, more than any other part of our body represents who we are. It is the centre of our nervous system, and home to our identity and intelligence. The Chakra at the top of our head (Crown Chakra) is the one we use to communicate with our higher self. If our head feels good, we feel good.
The Indian head massage course and routine you are studying does not use oils; however you can use them as part of your treatment. You can follow this course with our popular Natural Lift Facial Massage course, which incorporates a unique blend of highly effective techniques from Indian Face Massage.
The massage to the head is not only very relaxing but you get to give the whole body an MOT releasing toxins and stimulating organs to work more efficiently.
Although Indian Head Massage has existed India for many years it has only recently started to gain popularity in the West. This massage works on areas of the body particularly prone to stress, especially the neck and the shoulders where tension affects major muscle groups, it can often bring immediate relief. These tensions are eased and fibrous knots and nodules melt away, no expensive equipment is required making it available to all.
If you are a beginner and do not belong to a professional body you can still attend this course and you will not be required to do any case studies.
Please note that the other professional bodies do not require any case studies for this or the other courses we offer, you will only have to do case studies if you are a member of FHT.
If you wish to join a professional body and you do not have a massage qualification you can register with The beauty guild who do not have any requirements for you to join. you are able to obtain their cover without a certificate in massage so if you are a complete beginner they will accept you.
The qualification gained from the following course will only be accepted for professional practice and insurance if the student holds the pre-requisites of A&P and an accredited body massage qualification.
Also for Existing FHT Members only they require 3 case studies x 3 treatments - 9 treatments in total.
You can offer this treatment straight away however if you are registered with FHT for your insurance you can ONLY offer it once you have completed your case histories but you do not have to do case studies if you have your insurance with anyone else.
If you are with FHT you do your case studies at home and send them into your tutor at your own pace and then once marked they will send you your certificate, if you are not with FHT you get your certificate on the day of your training as you are assessed on your practical skills on the day.

Tutor was extremely knowledgeable in her topic knowledge and delivered the course with confidence and clarity. I would strongly recommend the training skills and I would definitely do another course. The day was a great success in my mind where we studied hard and had fun during the day. Adequate breaks to receive us and pleasant surroundings. Well done!
Feedback from Sally Brown
Wonderful training given on the day, she was very knowledgeable and taught in a very hands on way keen to show us all the different techniques. I thoroughly enjoyed the training given and would recommend to anyone wanting to do extra beauty or therapy courses to consider doing theirs through Gateway workshops.

I have never done any kind of massage course before and was nervous. My tutor was friendly, helpful, professional and very very good at what she does! I was very impressed and feel I have gained massively from the whole experience. I would have no hesitation to use or recommend gateway to anybody.
