My name is Sue Cross my background has been in Human Resources for more than 15 years which involved running many in house training courses. Following redundancy from my former job I began to question what I really wanted to do with my life. Top of the list was I wanted to be of service to others in a positive and uplifting way, and I wanted to be self reliant and work for myself. This led me to take up a Counselling course which in turn led me to Reiki, from that very first treatment I knew I had found what I wanted to do. This awakening then took me into the Holistic arena, and my training began at the Central Manchester College of Excellence for Beauty and complementary Therapies.
I began building my practice and experience working mobile for a couple of years. This included working for Charitable organisations such as the Drugs and Alcohol Centre, for people on rehabilitation programmes, 42 Street, working with disadvantaged teenagers, Sure Start, FACT - Family and Child Therapies, The Children’s society and the Homeless Centre in Preston. As my experience grew I became more and more passionate about what I was doing I then rented space in a Hair Salon for 3 years, offering a range of therapies. At the beginning of 2007 I opened my own Centre in Prestwich, where I offer a whole range of treatments and services to the local community for their health and well being.
I came in touch with Gateway Workshops many years ago on my first course with Gateway, Hot Stones, and thoroughly enjoyed their training. So as I qualified with my PGCE this summer I wanted to begin teaching the complementary courses and teach courses to the same professional standard. As luck has it I contacted Sue Bailey to enquire about teaching in the Manchester region and fortunately for me, yes they required a tutor. Since coming on board it has been a great pleasure meeting the other tutors who are like minded and so dedicated and committed to enhancing the lives of all who come in to contact with them.
Sue was very good, she explained things well and did not rush. I felt confident afterwards. The facial course was good, I am now practising it with my clients and they enjoy it. The courses were advertised in the FHT magazine so I trusted that they would be good.
