Thai Massage is one of the branches of Traditional Thai Medicine and in Thailand is widely considered to be a medical discipline used for the treatment of a wide variety of ailments.
This is a very popular course with our students as not many therapists offer this giving you advantages over other therapists in your area to offer something new and in demand.
Thai Massage is also practiced by a number of non-medical massage practitioners in the spa and tourism industries. Since the 1990’s it has become a worldwide therapy and is quickly becoming one of the most popular treatments in Spas and massage clinics.

Thai Massage is an ancient and unique form of body therapy incorporating deep stretching and rhythmic compression in a ‘dance like’ transmission of energy. It affects the whole body by increasing flexibility, releasing both deep and superficial tension, and helping the body’s natural energy to flow more freely.
The experience of a Thai Massage leaves one feeling both relaxed and energised at the same time.
For those of you who love this course as it is very popular and often students wish to take the more advanced course to follow we offer level 2.
It has been known as passive yoga as the receiver can be put into yoga-like positions during a treatment. It is usually performed on the floor with the client wearing comfortable clothing that allows for movement. The massage practitioner exerts pressure on the body’s energy lines with the palms of the hands, the thumbs, the elbows and even the feet.
This Thai Massage course is for therapists with a full body massage qualification. One day insurable accredited course - maximum of 6 in a class keeping it small ensuring individual attention.

Feedback from Ryan butterworth
I recently attended the Thai massage level 1 course. The course itself was very interesting and insightful and has given me the confidence to perform this treatment straight away! The information provided was brilliant and has left me inspired to not only proceed to the level 2 course but to expand my massage skills on other massage courses with gateway workshops I look forward to my next training! I will most definitely be back! I decided to book this course with gateway workshops because its affordability and smaller class size enabling me to get the best possible attention.
