If you feel one day is not enough training, you are able to come back to repeat the course again free of charge. However due to small classes this is rare but available if required.
Through in-depth demonstration and practise, techniques will be taught to deal with common ailments such as headaches, pre-menstrual tension, cervical spondylitis and frozen shoulder. The Supine and Prone positions will be taught, advancing to the Sitting position. Students will learn how effective a sitting position can be to cure such ailments.
Students will be taught to work with different body types, using their own body weight to exert pressure and manipulate to an appropriate level of resistance. Techniques including breath and movement will also be taught for releasing muscle tightness and emotional imbalance. A more in-depth understanding will leave one feeling able to work more specific in certain areas and for certain ailments.
Thai Massage is one of the branches of Traditional Thai Medicine and in Thailand is widely considered to be a medical discipline used for the treatment of a wide variety of ailments. Thai Massage is also practiced by a number of non-medical massage practitioners in the spa and tourism industries.
Since the 1990’s it has become a worldwide therapy and is quickly becoming one of the most popular treatments in Spas and massage clinics.
Thai Massage is an ancient and unique form of body therapy incorporating deep stretching and rhythmic compression in a ‘dance like’ transmission of energy. It affects the whole body by increasing flexibility, releasing both deep and superficial tension, and helping the body’s natural energy to flow more freely.
The experience of a Thai Massage leaves one feeling both relaxed and energised at the same time.
It has been known as passive yoga as the receiver can be put into yoga-like positions during a treatment. It is usually performed on the floor with the client wearing comfortable clothing that allows for movement.
The massage practitioner exerts pressure on the body’s energy lines with the palms of the hands, the thumbs, the elbows and even the feet.
This Thai Massage course is for therapists with a full body massage qualification and a Thai Massage qualification (Level 1 with Gateway or a qualification obtained elsewhere) One day insurable accredited course - maximum of 6 in a class keeping it small ensuring individual attention.

Why is our course so popular?
This is because the certification we give you allows a student to work with which ever particular brand they choose to purchase later and use with their clients.
Importantly as we teach effective and safe methods with products our tutors love to use but do not insist on the students who attend to have to continue with any one given brand afterwards to gain insurance and use what they have learned with us professionally.
This then allows students to make their own choice of brand and also means that they are not tied by any particular brand when it comes to their insurance, so should they ever have a problem and if a claim is made and they have changed brand, they would still be covered (please check this with your insurance provider) giving you a lot more flexibility.
This also means you are not tied into buying brands from us which is very restrictive which only makes the school you are buying them from money but does not benefit you. This means the certificate you gain with us gives you the freedom to use what ever brand you wish, the tutors can guide you to good products but ultimately it is your choice!

Feedback from Tracey Hodge
My tutor was very welcoming and supportive. She is a very knowledgeable lady who was more than happy to answer any questions and she spent a lot of time going over practical skills to ensure we were comfortable with the techniques and confident using them. I have thoroughly enjoyed my 2 days working under her expert eye.
The Level 1 (and later part 2) Thai body massage courses were very thorough and highly informative. There was plenty of time to practice techniques until we were comfortable with them and I left feeling confident in my ability to provide good treatments for clients. The 2 days were exactly what I hoped they would be. I feel they were very good value for money and I would definitely consider attending another course in the future.
Manuals were very useful both as a course accompaniment and as a reference tool afterwards. The use of photographs and diagrams for all techniques was very helpful and they were easy to follow.
Feedback from David Sheppard
Tutor was excellent. Friendly, calm, approachable and easy to get on with. Delivery of information and practical demonstrations all very good. I think this last session (Thai Massage Level 2) was particularly successful because we all got a chance to work with an experienced person - and share ideas. (There were 5 students - one of whom was pretty experienced in Thai Massage) and the tutor made up the 6th body. Given the class dynamic that worked extremely well. Have done courses where the tutor was not terribly hands on before - and found it less successful than my Gateway tutors approach.
Feedback from Karen Spenceley
Fantastic tutor went to great lengths to make sure I understood the course. She is very knowledge and thorough. The course was delivered is a non-judgemental and informal way. I loved it!!!
