Jennifer Robinson

I’ve always had a passion for learning about the human body. From being a young girl I knew the power of massage to ease pain, often massaging my mum's feet after a long day at work.  Initially, I trained in Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy. I worked for several years as a Make-Up Artist, working with photographers and hair stylists.

I took a break and pursued other careers. After several roles within the Probation Service, I became a peripatetic IT trainer, a role l loved. I found I had a natural ability to impart my IT skills to practitioners, especially those who were new to IT. A few years later I became an office manager and inhouse trainer in supervision and appraisal for managers.

I was involved in a car crash that left me with terrible back and neck pain that was relieved by massage and physiotherapy. Once I recovered, I continued to schedule regular massages and enjoy visits to spas for my wellbeing and relaxation. My passion for massage as a career was ignited.

In 2015 I opened a massage therapy clinic specialising in relaxation techniques. I worked my business part time while raising my young family and caring for elderly parents. Whilst this was an extremely busy time, it gave me a great sense of satisfaction knowing that my treatments were so beneficial to my clients. They ranged from busy mums, professionals to a few celebrities.  During this time, I undertook several complementary courses which I was able to offer to my clients.  They offered positive solutions to everyday aches and pains. The Thai Foot massage and the Natural Lift Facial Massage both offer instant results, working on the acupressure points. They are both my favourite treatments to give and to receive. I have an established clientele and have recently ventured into working with corporate clients in offices and salons.

I’ve taken over 20 Gateway Workshops courses and I have always been impressed by the professionalism, breadth of the knowledge and support of the tutors. Recently I was asked to join the team of tutors after completing my Level 3 Award in Education and Training. I was excited to start my teaching journey with Gateway Workshops.
