From a very young age I was interested in many aspects of beauty, especially the practice of massage which is where my passion to pursue a career in beauty stemmed from!
Upon leaving school, I went straight to college and gained my level two and three Beauty Therapy qualifications. In 1999, I left college and went straight to work as a therapist. After being in my first salon for seven years, I felt that I needed to move on so that I could further develop my skills and grow more as a therapist. At the time I was head hunted by a prestigious Aveda Salon, where I soon became the Spa Manager, Deputy Salon manager and in-Salon Coach for the next six years.
A few years into my role I started to develop a real hunger for teaching, which I was able to somewhat fulfil in my position as in-Salon Coach. Whilst on maternity leave with my first child I was approached by a local college to become a level one and two Beauty Lecturer. I started teaching in 2011 whilst at the same time studying for my Assessors Award and Teaching Degree. I graduated with honours in 2014.
In my 15 plus years experience as a therapist, I have completed numerous courses as in this ever growing industry you can never stop learning. I strive to be the best therapist that I can be, keep up with all the latest trends and have relished the opportunity to meet so many new people along my journey. I still work as a Beauty Lecturer and enjoy being able to share my passion with others, nurture and support them wherever possible and help them fulfill their dreams of working in the beauty industry.
