I went to University College Birmingham to study a BSc honours degree in Sports Therapy as I have always been interested in the human body, helping people and sports. Throughout my studies I worked with university sports teams and attended events including The London Marathon, Great North Run and Iron Man events, providing post-race treatments.
Once I graduated university, I worked with a gym providing sports therapy treatments to both members and private clients, whilst here I decided to develop my skills further and gained my level 3 diploma in personal training. I found training and treating clients very rewarding however it left me feeling I had more to give. After 4 years of working within the industry I chose to pursue a career in teaching further education.
In 2015 I started teaching BTEC and NCFE Sports courses at Wandsworth College, alongside this I was continuing to treat clients privately, providing mobile therapy. As my client base began to grow, I made the decision to drop to part-time teaching hours to allow me the opportunity to grow my private business and finally made the step to go fully self-employed to develop my mobile therapy business, as although I loved teaching I found I did not have the time to do both successfully.
I then took this opportunity to develop my therapy expertise in other areas and undertook training with Gateway Workshops. Having thoroughly enjoyed the training I undertook and after speaking with the tutor and finding out about the company, I enquired about joining the team to become a tutor myself. I am passionate about helping other people whether it be relieving them from pain and discomfort or teaching them to develop their skills further.
