I had very sore "therapist shoulders" and asked a college friend to come and give me a massage, she used some super new moves on me and I imediately wanted to know where she learnt them. Gateway Advanced Deep Tissue course was her reply, and all in one day! So I signed up despite being sceptical about learning all these moves in one day but the day was fabulous. We covered the theory and learned the moves on the legs and feet before lunch. Then we were shown all the moves for the back, arms and front of chest, each move was demonstrated and practiced by us all. The final stage to the day was to perform and be worked on doing all the moves with the guidence of our tutor, this ensured that we had remembered the moves correctly and by checking our stance, posture, she twecked us to perform the moves so that we were not holding any tension. She asked us questions which made us think about all we had learned which reinforced the key points into our memories,ie "never use your elbow on the neck or the spine." Having the moves performed on ourselves showed just how powerful they can be felt by the client and also the wonderful benefit felt in the coming days. I am now looking forward to treating the issues of my clients, without wrecking my own thumbs, shoulders and back.Thanks to this course, I will be able to have a longer career as a massage therapist. Thank you Maureen. Would I book another course? Absolutely YES. Maureen is warm, welcoming, calm, very knowledgeable and had a very caring professional attitude. I loved the content of the course and the lovely way it was delivered.The studio was warm, the towels fluffy and clean, the Songbird massage wax was a delightful surprise as I had anticipated a low grade oil and the background music was perfect for a slow paced massage. I will definately book another course with Maureen, she is an excellent tutor who explains things clearly, shows you exactly how to perform a move and makes sure you understand which muscles you are working on and what the benefits will be to the client. She worked hard all day,imparting her knowledge to us and make us better therapists. Thank you Maureen it was much appreciated.

The DVD looks great (from the first veiwing) and it is one of the reasons that I booked the course as I knew I wouldn't remember every thing I was taught on the day, so it is a great resourse for me to refer to and refresh my mind.
