Bethanie was amazing. People usually say that about tutors but I actually mean it this time! She was affable, experienced, intuitive, communicative, respectful, fun but serious at the same time. The point that immediately stood out was during her briefing when she said that she might ask us 'how we felt our posture was' during the treatments and that we should then self monitor to see if there was a postural deviation and how we might correct it ourselves. This is how we teach technical skills at UK Athletics and is regarded as a higher learning method than the simple dictatorial approach when you just tell someone what they're doing wrong but without empowering them to make their own intervention. I've had this on other courses when they yell at you and tell you to stop doing 'that' but without being specific about what 'that' is nor let you find the solution yourself. Really impressive!
